Director of the Vnesheconombank Institute Yulia Zvorykina took part in the I Caspian Economic Forum, which was held on August 12, 2019 in the Avaza National Tourist Zone (Turkmenbashi, Turkmenistan). The forum was attended by the heads of government of the five states of the Caspian Five - the Russian Federation, the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Republic of Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan. The forum was opened by the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
The Russian delegation at the forum was led by Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev. During his speech at the forum, Dmitry Medvedev proposed holding the second Caspian Economic Forum in Astrakhan. The total amount of transactions concluded at the forum, according to media reports, amounted to more than $ 380 million. Following the forum, the Caspian countries agreed to develop a plan to strengthen economic cooperation, which will allow them to significantly increase trade.
Yulia Zvorykina, as a member of the Russian delegation, spoke during a session on the development of the green economy in the Caspian region (“Green Economy for the Caspian Region”). Vnesheconombank Institute has previously formed a center of expertise in development of the green economy, mechanisms and instruments for financing “Green Growth”.
